Streats is one of those places that comes to mind whenever everyone in the family wants something different for a meal. One person craves local delights, another wants Western food, while someone else is in the mood for a hearty claypot dish. At the same time, you may not feel like heading to a hawker centre and dealing with the heat and crowds. Instead of spending ages debating where to eat, Streats offers a wide variety of dishes under one roof, making it easy to satisfy everyone’s cravings.

One of the biggest advantages of dining at Streats is the convenience of having so many options available. This makes it a great choice for family meals, casual gatherings with friends, or even a quick lunch break when you simply cannot decide what cuisine you are in the mood for.
What’s on Streats Menu
During my recent visit, two dishes stood out and quickly became my favourites are the Malaysian Carrot Cake and the Claypot Seafood Soup Vermicelli.
The Malaysian Carrot Cake is quite different from the traditional local carrot cake that many Singaporeans are familiar with. Instead of the usual black or white version, this Malaysian-style rendition offers a unique flavour profile that is both savoury and satisfying. The carrot cake pieces were soft on the inside while maintaining a pleasant texture. Every bite was packed with flavour, making it an enjoyable dish from start to finish.

Another highlight was the Claypot Seafood Soup Vermicelli. Served piping hot, the vermicelli absorbed the rich and savoury sauce beautifully.

The noodles were flavourful without being overly salty, and one thing I particularly liked was how the Claypot Seafood Soup Vermicelli was served. It arrived in a traditional claypot with a small flame beneath to keep the dish warm throughout the meal. This not only helped maintain the temperature.

Of course, no meal is complete without a refreshing drink. One beverage that I highly recommend trying is the Lychee Aloe Vera drink. This drink was surprisingly refreshing and complemented the savoury dishes perfectly. The sweet lychee flavour paired wonderfully with the light, refreshing aloe vera bits, creating a drink that was both enjoyable and cooling. Singapore’s warm weather makes this an excellent choice for beating the heat while enjoying your meal.

My son especially loved the Kid’s Meal, which comes with fried rice and a chicken chop. The chicken was served with a dipping sauce on the side, allowing him to enjoy it the way he likes. The chicken chop was tender and crispy, while the fried rice was flavourful and satisfying. It’s a great option for families dining with children, as the portion is suitable for kids and the familiar flavours are usually a hit with young diners. The Kid’s Meal costs $10.80 and it comes with Yakult and Ice-Cream.

We also ordered their Char Kway Teow, a popular local fried noodle dish. Unlike the typical sweeter-style Char Kway Teow commonly found in Singapore, Streats’ version leans more towards a savoury profile. The noodles were well-fried and packed with flavour, though I found it slightly on the oily side.

Another item from the Streats menu that caught my attention was the Wanton Noodle. As Streats is halal-certified, the wantons are made with chicken, which provides a tasty alternative that allows Muslim diners to enjoy this popular local dish without compromise.

Another major plus point is that Streats is halal certified. This makes it a suitable dining destination for Muslim diners and groups with diverse dietary preferences. Finding a restaurant that offers such a broad selection of dishes while maintaining halal certification adds to its appeal and makes it easier for families and friends to dine together comfortably.
