Award-Winning Delicious Taste of Malaysia Hai Kah Lang Seafood Noodles Now in Singapore

If you are a seafood lover who enjoys hearty noodles and comforting soups, you may want to check out Hai Kah Lang (海脚人) at Funan Centre.

Hai Kah Lang

Hai Kah Lang is well-known in Malaysia for its fresh seafood noodles and soups, Hai Kah Lang has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand for four consecutive years (2023, 2024, 2025, 2026). The good news is that you can now enjoy its signature dishes in Singapore without travelling across the border to Malaysia.

Hai Kah Lang Michelin Bib Gourmand

When we arrived at the table, the first thing I noticed on the table was a complimentary small packet of prawn crackers from Hai Kah Lang. If you love prawn crackers, you definitely will not want to miss trying these. They were so addictive that after tasting them, I ended up buying a big pack to bring home!

Fish Head Milk Soup Noodle

One of the dishes we ordered was the Fish Head Milk Soup Noodle. What I particularly liked was how the fried fish head was served separately in another bowl. This meant I could soak the crispy fish head in the soup whenever I wanted, rather than having it become soggy from the beginning.

The soup was quite different from the typical milky fish head noodles I have tried in Singapore. It was flavourful, with a slight salted vegetable taste and hints of tomato that added a nice balance to the creamy broth. The combination made the soup comforting without being overly rich.

Signature Sauce Mix Seafood Dry Noodle

We also tried the Signature Sauce Mix Seafood Dry Noodle. The noodles reminded me a little of kolo mee, with a savoury sauce coating the noodles nicely. More importantly, the seafood ingredients tasted fresh, making every bite enjoyable.

If you prefer noodles without soup, this would be a good option to consider, especially if you like a more savoury and sauce-coated noodle dish.

Mixed Seafood Soup with Rice

The Mixed Seafood Soup with Rice was another highlight. The soup had a natural sweetness from the seafood, while the ingredients tasted fresh and sweet.

The flower crab meat was particularly sweet and enjoyable.

Side Dish at Hai Kah Lang

For the side dish, we have ordered the fried fish cake. I like the fried fish cake; it was wonderfully springy and had a nice bite.

The fried prawn paste fish slice was another tasty addition. It was crispy on the outside while the fish meat inside remained soft and tender. I enjoyed the contrast in texture between the crispy exterior and soft inside.

Refreshing Drinks

Not forgetting our drinks, we ordered the Hai Kah Lang originated Sea Bird’s Nest Jelly Drink.

Sea Bird Nest

Personally, I would not say it tasted much like bird’s nest, but I really enjoyed the combination of jelly with the coconut drink. The jelly added an interesting texture, and the drink was refreshing and easy to enjoy.

I also ordered a drink called I’m Not a Fool, and the name itself immediately caught my attention. Made with cucumber, lemon and green tea, the drink was refreshing with a light and zesty flavour. However, I found there was quite a lot of residue in the drink, which sometimes made it difficult to suck up through the straw. Despite this, I enjoyed the refreshing combination of cucumber and lemon, making it a nice drink to pair with the seafood dishes. If you are someone who does not like having residue or bits in your drink, you may want to skip this one.
