Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe is a cosy spot along the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, perfect for a relaxing breakfast or brunch. If you enjoy healthy food, fresh juices and plant-based options, this cafe has plenty to explore. With its laid-back riverside setting, it is a nice place to enjoy a meal and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Carrotsticks and Cravings Cafe is also conveniently located near several hotels, including InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay, M Social Singapore and The Warehouse Hotel making it a convenient option for hotel guests looking for breakfast or brunch nearby.
Outdoor Seating by the Singapore River
During my visit to Carrotsticks and Cravings, I noticed that the indoor seating was quite limited, with most of the tables located outdoors. The outdoor area is sheltered by umbrellas, so you can still enjoy your meal outside unless the weather is particularly rainy or windy.

I chose to sit outdoors during my visit at Carrotsticks and Cravings, and thankfully, it was quite windy, making it a pleasant experience. Sitting by the Singapore River while enjoying my breakfast gave the meal a relaxing and laid-back feel.

Vegan Mushroom Avo – $18
As a mushroom lover, I was immediately drawn to the Vegan Mushroom Avo from the All-Day Breakfast menu at Carrotsticks and Cravings. Priced at $18, it comes with roasted mushrooms, smashed avocado, pumpkin seeds and sourdough toast.

The combination is simple but satisfying. I enjoyed the roasted mushrooms with the creamy smashed avocado, while the pumpkin seeds added a little crunch to the dish.
One thing to note is that the sourdough toast is buttered. If you prefer your toast without butter, you can simply let the staff know when placing your order.
There are also several add-ons available if you want to make your breakfast more filling at Carrotsticks and Cravings. You can choose eggs, halloumi, smoked salmon or turkey ham. One add-on costs $6, or you can get any two for $8.
We have also ordered one with added egg and halloumi to our Vegan Mushroom Avo. The egg added extra richness to the dish, while the halloumi was slightly salty with a firm, chewy texture. I liked how the savoury halloumi paired with the creamy smashed avocado and roasted mushrooms, making the breakfast more satisfying.

Tummy Time Fresh Juice
For my drink, I went for the Tummy Time fresh juice, made with carrot, orange, ginger and turmeric. Sounds like an unusual combination? I thought so too! But since I enjoy trying different fresh juice combinations, I was curious to give it a try. So far, Carrotsticks and Cravings is the only cafe where I have come across this unique combination of carrot, orange, ginger and turmeric in a fresh juice.

Turmeric contains curcumin, a compound commonly associated with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. According to Mount Alvernia Hospital, turmeric has been studied for potential benefits such as supporting digestive health and helping with inflammation. However, having too much turmeric may cause stomach irritation, so it is best enjoyed in moderation.
The juice also contains ginger, which is often associated with digestive benefits and antioxidant properties, making it an interesting addition to the drink.
Here is a little tip I picked up: adding a small amount of black pepper to turmeric may help improve the absorption of curcumin.

So, yes, you heard that right! If you are having the Tummy Time juice, you can add a little black pepper to it. It may sound unusual at first, but surprisingly, the combination actually tastes quite good. The black pepper adds a subtle kick to the juice without overpowering the flavours of the carrot, orange, ginger and turmeric.
