See Mee Again Wanton Mee at Bendemeer Road, the Traditional Wanton Noodle from $4.50

If you love traditional wanton mee in Singapore, here is another coffeeshop stall worth checking out. See Mee Again serves traditional-style wanton noodles at a very wallet-friendly price, with bowls starting from just $4.50.

See Mee Again

What caught my attention was that it is located in a coffeeshop along Bendemeer Road, the same coffeeshop where you can also find Lao Ban Niang Prawn Noodle, which serves the old-school style of prawn noodle that I enjoyed.

So, if you are already in the area looking for affordable Singapore hawker food, you can actually try both the prawn noodles and wanton mee in the same coffeeshop.

See Mee Again Traditional Wanton Mee from $4.50

See Mee Again has a few items on its menu, with prices ranging from around $4.50 to $5.80, depending on what you order.

See Mee Again Menu

The traditional wanton mee caught my attention because it is one of those familiar Singapore noodle dishes that is simple but comforting. You can also add side dishes to your meal if you want something more.

One interesting option I spotted was their Mala Traditional Wanton Noodle. If you enjoy a little spice with your noodles, this could be something different to try compared with the usual wanton mee.

For me, though, I decided to keep things simple and went for their traditional Wanton Noodle.

Full Egg Noodles That Stay Chewy?

According to See Mee Again, their noodles are made with full egg noodles, which they say helps the noodles remain chewy and not soggy even when packed for takeaway.

I did not pack mine to go, so I cannot personally comment on whether the noodles really stay chewy and non-soggy after being packed.

However, I can share my experience from eating it fresh.

The noodles were indeed quite chewy, with a nice bite to them. What I particularly enjoyed was how the noodles absorbed the sauce, so every bite had a good amount of flavour.

My Wanton Mee Experience

The wanton mee was straightforward and enjoyable. The chewy noodles combined nicely with the sauce, giving the noodles a savoury flavour without making the dish feel overly complicated.

The char siew was not really the typical BBQ-style char siew that you might expect with wanton mee. It had a different texture and taste from the more caramelised, roasted style.

Still, when everything was eaten together with the noodles and sauce, the overall taste was pretty good.

For me, the noodles were definitely one of the highlights. I liked the texture and the way they carried the sauce with each bite.

Flavourful Wanton and Soup

Not forgetting the wanton, which was also quite enjoyable. The wanton skin was soft, while the meat filling was flavourful. It was a nice combination with the noodles and made the bowl feel more complete.

The soup was flavourful too, giving me something warm and savoury to enjoy alongside the noodles. Sometimes the soup can be easily overlooked when having wanton mee, but I thought the soup here was worth mentioning.

Will I Try the Mala Wanton Mee Next?

With prices from $4.50 to $5.80, See Mee Again is another affordable option if you are looking for traditional wanton mee in Singapore.

I also like that there are different choices on the menu, including the Mala Traditional Wanton Noodle, so there is something for those who want to try a more spicy version.

As for the takeaway claim, I have not personally tested it yet. If you have tried See Mee Again Wanton Mee packed to go, do let me know in the comments. I would be curious to know whether the noodles really stay chewy and do not turn soggy!

If you are around Bendemeer Road, you can consider dropping by this coffeeshop and trying See Mee Again for yourself. And since Lao Ban Niang Prawn Noodle is in the same coffeeshop, you can even make it a little old-school noodle food hunt and try both!
