Breakfast is often one of the highlights of a hotel stay, and my breakfast experience at PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort was certainly an interesting one. Due to the high number of guests staying at the resort, the hotel opened up its ballroom and transformed it into a spacious buffet breakfast area.

Instead of having guests wait too long for a table at the main breakfast restaurant, the ballroom provided an additional dining space where guests could enjoy their morning meal comfortably. I thought this was a practical arrangement, especially during busy periods when the resort is likely to be crowded with families and holidaymakers.
Breakfast in the Ballroom at PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort
Walking into the ballroom, I was surprised by how much space had been converted into a breakfast area. Tables and chairs were arranged throughout the ballroom, while the buffet stations were set up with a wide selection of food.

Although having breakfast in a ballroom may sound unusual, it worked surprisingly well. There was plenty of space for guests to move around and pick up their food without feeling too cramped.
Most importantly, the ballroom helped ease the crowd at the main breakfast restaurant. Rather than spending a long time waiting for a table, guests had another option for enjoying their breakfast. They even have big screens playing cartoons for the kids during breakfast! Definitely a nice touch for families with young children.
An Impressive Variety of Food
What really stood out to me was the huge variety of food available. There was something for different tastes, whether you prefer a hearty local breakfast, Western favourites or something lighter. The buffet spread included a selection of Asian and local dishes, along with familiar Western breakfast choices.

PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort also set up live cooking stations at the ballroom breakfast. There was an egg station where the staff would prepare eggs according to guests’ preferences. The egg station is beside the Indian station.
There was also a porridge station, with a live cooking noodle station located right beside it. The noodle station offered plenty of ingredients for guests to choose from, allowing you to customise your own bowl of noodles. The staff would then cook the noodles fresh upon request.
Besides these, there was also a dim sum corner offering a selection of steamed bites. Families with children would be pleased to find a kids’ corner, which even provided three different types of milk such as fresh milk, strawberry milk and chocolate milk.
There was also a Japanese corner with a selection of Japanese-style breakfast items, adding even more variety to the already extensive buffet spread. With so many different food stations available, I was quite impressed by how much there was to choose from during breakfast.
There were also several varieties of breads and pastries available. Although the selection may not look extensive at first glance, I found it more than sufficient, especially with so many other food choices available at the buffet. With plenty of savoury dishes, local favourites and other breakfast options to choose from, there was definitely no shortage of food.
For those who enjoy a hot breakfast, there were plenty of cooked dishes to choose from. With so many choices available, it was easy to fill up your plate with a little bit of everything.

I also liked that the buffet was spread across different stations, making it easier for guests to browse the selection and decide what they wanted.
A Family-Friendly Breakfast
Since PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort is a popular family resort, having a spacious breakfast venue is especially useful. Families with children can have more room to move around, while the wide selection means everyone can find something they enjoy.
For me, the variety was one of the biggest highlights. With such a generous spread, you would probably need more than one morning to try everything available!
The ballroom setting also gave the breakfast experience a slightly different feel from the usual hotel restaurant. It was less about having an intimate breakfast and more about accommodating the large number of resort guests efficiently.
A Practical Solution During Peak Periods
I thought it was a smart move by PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort to open the ballroom when the main breakfast restaurant was busy. Instead of leaving guests standing around waiting for a table, the hotel created an additional breakfast venue.
While I would normally expect breakfast to be served in the hotel’s restaurant, I didn’t mind having it in the ballroom. The most important thing was that there was ample seating and an impressive buffet selection.
Final Thoughts
Overall, my breakfast experience at PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort was a pleasant one. The ballroom breakfast may have been introduced to cope with the large crowd, but I found it to be a practical and comfortable solution.
The extensive buffet spread provided by PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort was definitely the highlight, with plenty of choices to suit different preferences. From local and Asian favourites to Western breakfast staples, there was certainly no shortage of food.
If you are staying at PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort during a busy period, don’t be surprised if breakfast is served in the ballroom. In fact, you may find yourself enjoying the spacious setting and generous variety of food just as much as I did.
