Looking for a Spanish restaurant in Singapore that serves delicious paella, tapas and seafood? My Little Spanish Place along Bukit Timah Road is a place to consider if you enjoy exploring Spanish cuisine.

Spanish food is known for its rich flavours, fresh seafood and dishes made for sharing. During our visit to My Little Spanish Place, we tried four dishes: Croquetas de Jamón (ham), Vieiras (baby Galician scallops), Pulpo (grilled octopus) and the signature Paella de la Casa (seafood rice).
Each dish had its own appeal, but the grilled octopus was my personal favourite. If you are planning to explore Spanish food in Singapore, here is what we enjoyed during our meal.
1. Croquetas de Jamón – Crispy Spanish Ham Croquettes
We started with the Croquetas de Jamón, which came in a serving of four pieces. These golden croquettes were crispy on the outside, while the inside was smooth and creamy, with pieces of jamón adding a savoury flavour. I enjoyed them with a glass of fruity red wine, which paired nicely with the rich, savoury filling of the croquettes. It was a lovely way to kick off our Spanish meal!

If you are unfamiliar with jamón, it is the Spanish word for ham. Spanish jamón is traditionally made by curing pork and is often served in thin slices.
I enjoyed the contrast between the crispy exterior and the creamy filling. The pieces of jamón also added extra flavour, making these croquettes a good starter for our Spanish meal.

If you enjoy crispy snacks with a creamy filling, this is a dish worth trying at My Little Spanish Place.
2. Vieiras – Grilled Baby Galician Scallops with Garlic Butter
Next, we had the Vieiras, or grilled baby Galician scallops with roe. The scallops were cooked a la plancha, a Spanish cooking technique that involves cooking food on a hot flat surface, and served with garlic butter and fresh herbs.

The scallops were nicely cooked, and I particularly enjoyed the garlic butter flavour. The baby scallops were sweet, while the garlic butter and fresh herbs added fragrance without overpowering their natural sweetness.

I liked how the scallops retained their natural flavour while taking on the rich taste of the garlic butter. For seafood lovers looking for something different from the usual seafood dishes in Singapore, these grilled scallops are worth considering.
3. Pulpo – Tender Grilled Octopus with Saffron Potato Purée
The highlight of my meal at My Little Spanish Place was the Pulpo, a grilled octopus leg served with saffron potato purée, romesco sauce, parsley and paprika oil.

Cooking octopus well can be tricky. If it is overcooked, the meat can become tough and difficult to chew. However, the octopus leg here was very well prepared. The meat was soft, tender and easy to bite, while retaining its natural sweetness.
What made the dish even better was the saffron potato purée. It paired beautifully with the octopus, adding another layer of flavour and making each bite more satisfying. The romesco sauce and paprika oil also complemented the dish.
This was my favourite dish at My Little Spanish Place! I particularly enjoyed the tenderness of the octopus and how well it went with the saffron potato purée.
If you are a fan of grilled octopus or want to try a Spanish seafood dish beyond paella, I would recommend giving the Pulpo a try.
4. Paella de la Casa – My Little Spanish Place’s Signature House Paella
Of course, we could not leave without trying the Paella de la Casa, the restaurant’s signature house paella.

This Spanish rice dish is cooked in a flavourful seafood broth with sofrito, a traditional Spanish cooking base commonly made with ingredients such as tomatoes, onions and garlic. The paella is packed with prawns, baby squid, fish, chicken and chorizo.
With seafood and meat in the same pan, there was a variety of ingredients to enjoy. The seafood broth gave the rice its savoury flavour, while the prawns, squid and fish added a seafood element to the dish. The chicken and chorizo provided additional flavours.
Chorizo is a seasoned Spanish sausage that may be cured, fermented or smoked, depending on the variety. Its savoury taste complements the other ingredients in the paella.
