During my visit to Icon Steak, I decided to try a few of their dishes, starting with the mushroom soup. A good bowl of mushroom soup is always a great way to begin a Western meal, and Icon Steak’s version was warm, creamy, and comforting. What made it even more enjoyable was the piece of toasted garlic bread served alongside it. The garlic bread had a nice crisp texture and was perfect for dipping into the creamy soup, making the appetiser feel more complete and satisfying.
My Main Course at Icon Steak
For the main course, I ordered the spaghetti with chicken chop, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The chicken chop was served with a generous amount of mushroom sauce that coated the meat beautifully. Unlike some places that only drizzle a small amount of sauce over the chicken, Icon Steak was generous with their serving, ensuring every bite was packed with the rich and savoury mushroom flavour.
The chicken chop itself was tender and juicy, with a nicely grilled exterior. Paired with the spaghetti, it created a comforting combination that was both filling and enjoyable. The spaghetti was simple but worked well with the chicken and the flavourful mushroom sauce. The portion was also quite generous, making it a hearty meal that offers good value for money.
I also tried their beef steak with black pepper sauce. The presentation was impressive, especially with the generous serving of coleslaw and whipped potato on the side. The coleslaw provided a refreshing crunch and a slight creaminess that balanced out the heavier components of the meal, while the whipped potato was smooth, creamy, and complemented the steak well.
The black pepper sauce added a bold and peppery kick to the beef, giving it a stronger flavour profile. However, compared to the chicken chop, I found the beef steak slightly less enjoyable as the meat could be quite tough and required more effort to chew. While the accompanying sides and sauce were satisfying, the texture of the beef did not stand out as much as I had hoped.
Between the two main dishes, my personal preference would definitely be the chicken chop. The tenderness of the meat combined with the generous mushroom sauce made it a more satisfying and enjoyable dish overall.
My Dining Experience at Icon Steak
Overall, my dining experience at Icon Steak was pleasant. The stall shines in terms of portion size and value for money. The generous servings of sauce, sides, and accompaniments show that they are not shy when it comes to giving customers a fulfilling meal.
Although the beef steak may not be my top recommendation due to its tougher texture, the chicken chop, mushroom soup, and the overall generous portions make Icon Steak worth considering when you are craving an affordable Western feast.
