If you are looking for a good fish soup in Singapore, you may want to add Boon Keng Road Fish Head Bee Hoon to your food list. This popular fish soup stall has recently been featured in the Michelin Guide, giving even more attention to a place that has been serving fish soup for more than 20 years.
Despite its name, Boon Keng Road Fish Head Bee Hoon is no longer located in Boon Keng. The stall has since moved to its current location at Bedok North Avenue 2. It is not unusual to see a long queue during peak hours, and you may also notice customers returning for another bowl of their favourite fish soup.

Boon Keng Road Fish Head Bee Hoon at Bedok North
One of the things I noticed about this place is the variety of choices you can have with your fish soup. You can choose different types of fish and noodles, and they also have several side dishes to go along with your meal.
For our meal, we ordered the Grouper Slice Fish with Mee Sua, Double Fish Soup with Thin Bee Hoon and Milk, and 2 pieces of Braised Tau Pok.
They also have side dishes such as braised big intestine, braised egg and fish. These can be added to your meal if you want something more than just fish soup.
Grouper Slice Fish with Mee Sua
I had the Grouper Slice Fish with Mee Sua, and the fish was soft and fresh. What stood out to me most was the soup. It had a strong, flavourful and savoury taste, which made the bowl very comforting.

Another thing I liked was that the bitter gourd came with the fish soup by default. These days, it is not as common to find fish soup that automatically comes with bitter gourd. At some places, you may need to pay extra to add it, while others may not offer it at all.

The bitter gourd did not make the soup bitter at all. Instead, it added a nice contrast to the rich and flavourful soup, making each spoonful enjoyable. If you usually enjoy having bitter gourd with your fish soup, I think you will appreciate that it comes as part of the bowl here.
We also ordered the Double Fish Soup with Thin Bee Hoon and Milk at Boon Keng Road Fish Head Bee Hoon. The double fish combination includes fried fish and fresh fish, giving you two different textures in the same bowl.

The fried fish was especially fragrant, and I felt it added an extra layer of flavour to the soup. The coating giving the fish a slightly savoury and fragrant taste. Together with the fresh fish, it made the soup more flavourful and enjoyable.
They will also ask if you would like to add milk to your fish soup. If you prefer your fish soup without milk, you can simply opt out. For those who enjoy a richer and creamier soup, adding milk is an option.
After trying it for myself, I can understand why Boon Keng Fish Head Bee Hoon made it into the Michelin Guide 2026. The fish was fresh, the soup was full of flavour, and the fragrant fried fish added an extra touch that I really enjoyed.
Mix Your Own Condiments
Boon Keng Road Fish Head Bee Hoon has a condiment station where you can pick up different sauces and condiments to go with your fish. I like that you can mix and match the condiments according to your own taste.

You can dip the fish into the sauce or add some to your soup for extra flavour. It gives you a little more control over how you want to enjoy your fish soup.
Don’t Miss the Tau Pok
We also ordered 2 pieces of Tau Pok. The tau pok was just right, with a soft texture and plenty of braised sauce soaked into it.

While it was enjoyable on its own, I felt the braised tau pok would be even nicer with a bowl of rice, especially if you enjoy soaking up the braised sauce with rice.
